I had just finished watching P.S. I Love You, and it still wasn't dark out. I decided to go get ready to "hang out" with Tommy. I put on my pair of lucky Abercrombie destroyed skinnies, a blue cami that matched Tommy's eyes and a burnout white tee from the buckle. I knew the outfit needed something, so I put on a sequin vest my mom had bought me. I went to my bathroom mirror and smiled. I decided to curl my hair. It took about half an hour, but I knew that it would be worth it. By the time I had finished lining my eyes with a sparkly eyeliner, and dabbed on some mascara, "I've Got a Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas, was blasting out on my speakers. I began rocking out in my room, until I heard the door bell ring. Oh geez! I thought, I hadn't even heard him drive up as I looked out the window at his 2010 Fit Sport Honda in Blackberry Pearl. Ya, I know cars. :-)
I hopped down the stairs two at a time and ran to the front door. I checked myself in the mirror by the door one last time before opening it. I saw him smiling as the door slided open in front of me. "Hey." He said. "Hi" I said back. " Come on in." He stepped inside and pulled off his brown cargo jacket. "You look really good." He said. "Thanks." I smiled and looked down at my feet. I should have worn socks I thought. "So what do you want to do?" He asked me. "Uhh, I don't know." I replied. We stood there and thought for a moment. "I'm starved!" I said. How about we cook something?" I asked. "Sounds good." he said. We walked into the kitchen, and I began digging through the fridge. "Anything you in the mood for?" I asked. "He pondered a second. "Soething easy." He said. We both cracked up, cause if you thought about it, that could have been really dirty.
"How about Potstickers?" I asked opening the freezer. "Sure." He replied. I grabbed the bag of frozen food and set it on the counter. I then dug under the stove for a pan. Then turned the stove top on medium high. I waked over to the lazy susan and grabbed the olive oil. "All virgin olive oil." I said and presented it to him like a waitor would a bottle of ancient wine. I laughed and began measuring 2/3 cup into the pan on the stove. "Are you a virgin?" He suddenly asked me. I began to blush and replied truthfully. "Ya, I am." He nodded, and I felt compelled to ask him. "Are you a virgin?!" He laughed and replied, "Ya, I am." "Really?" I was shocked. "Really." He said raising his eyebrows. "Is that hard to believe?" He asked me. "Well, ya. I mean your a senior, and your gorgeous!" I was blushing really bad now. "No girl has ever tried?" "Wel ya, they have but, i don't know, I just wanted to wait, for the right girl." "And none of them were right?" "No." I looked away and gabbed a frozen potsticker. I felt kinda uncomfortable talking about our sex lives. "Are you going to help me?" I asked him laughing. He giggled and walked over. I dropped the potsticker in to the pan. Sprays of burning oil came flying out. "ahhh!" I giggle-screamed as he threw in the next potsticker. We laughed and threw them in as spews of oil flew out and we ducked.
We finished dinner with burnt potstickers and burns on our arms and hands from the oil. "Where to next?" I asked him. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to his car. I grabbed my Uggs and leather jacket as we headed out the door. He opened the door for me and I hopped in. As he turned on the car he popped in a CD. "Matt Nathanson?" I asked. "I love him!" "Ya, he's pretty good he said looking back at me. We drove out to the beach, talking about our lives up until this year during the ride. I really got to know him well.
We got out of his car and I looked at the moon shining on the water. "I bet it's cold in the water. we're not going in it are we?" "No" he laughed, as he dug out a bag in his trunk. I looked at him curiously. "Fireworks" He said and smiled. I smiled back. We than ran on to the beach and stopped about 3 yards from the water. "wait here." he said, and pulled a camping lighter out of his pocket. He ran down with a big box of fireworks and about a yard from the water he lit it. He ran back to me, and we stood watching it go off, as he put his arm around me. He went back several times, and we raved about how cool the reflection of the fireworks were on the water. About the 6th time, he ran back to me, we looked up and then right before the big boom, he kissed me. It was slow, and romantic, and... Perfect! That night was amazing!
We drove back to Santa Clara around 2 am. He had his hand on the arm rest between us, and i decided to hold it. And that's how he drove, one hand on the wheel, one holding my hand. When we got to my house, and stopped the car, he looked into my eyes. I could melt looking into his baby blues. "You know, you're the most amazing girl. I can't believe you're a freshman. I smiled and kissed him goodnight. "Good night firework." He called out to me as I opened the door to my house.
